Taking on rivals like Jaguar, Audi, and BMW, Mercedes-Benz is all set to launch a new all-electric model next year. According to the company's CEO, Ola Källenius, an entry-level EQA SUV will be introduced in the global markets in 2020.
Notably, this model will be part of a 10-car EQ line-up that will go on sale by 2022.
Mercedes' EQA electric SUV will be based on a dedicated EV platform. However, in terms of styling and proportions, it will borrow some design cues from the gasoline-powered second-generation GLA.
Hence, we expect a compact crossover-like stance with sporty design elements including a blacked-out front grille with honeycomb patterns, indicator-mounted ORVMs, sleek headlights, and blacked-out wheel arches as well as side claddings.
Meanwhile, nothing concrete is known about the interiors of the EQA. However, considering it will be a Mercedes-Benz offering, the four-or-five seater cabin should offer premium interiors with best-in-class features, latest connectivity options, and enhanced security measures.
