Japanese automaker Toyota is working on launching the 2020 edition of its premium SUV, the Fortuner, by the end of this year.
In the latest update, IndianAutosBlog has revealed the renders of the upcoming car, giving us a fair idea of how the new model would look like.
Here's everything you need to know.
The car would come with several styling updates
Going by the render images, the new Toyota Fortuner will come with a heavily tweaked front fascia. The car would sport a new front bumper as well as a radiator grille, an updated LED headlamp, and revised fog lamp housings.
Apart from that, it would house indicator-mounted ORVMs, updated LED taillights, roof rails, and new 20-inch alloy wheels.
Inside the cabin
Quite like the current generation model, the new Fortuner would also offer a spacious seven-seater cabin with leather upholstery, automatic climate control, and a three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel.
The SUV will also sport an updated touchscreen infotainment unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support.
Apart from that, it would retain the standard safety features of the outgoing model.
Power and performance
The 2020 Toyota Fortuner would draw power from a 2.8-liter turbo-diesel engine that comes mated to either a 6-speed manual gearbox or automatic transmission.
As per reports, this engine would come with a different state of tune and produce more power than the existing motor, which churns out 177PS of power and 420Nm of peak torque.
Finally, what about pricing and availability?
The 2020 Toyota Fortuner will reportedly hit the Indian roads by the end of this year. As for the pocket-pinch, the new-generation model will come with a significant premium over the outgoing variant that falls under Rs. 28-34 lakh price bracket.
