With the abolition of entry tax in Karnataka and the implementation of GST from July 1, both diesel and petrol prices dropped by almost Rs. 3/litre. Diesel in Karnataka is now the cheapest in South India.
Diesel cost was Rs. 54.23 per litre while the cost of petrol was Rs 64.24 per litre in Bengaluru on Saturday.

Police arrest Bike-lifters who learnt tricks through online videos
Police arrested four vehicle lifters who trained themselves in stealing motorcycles by watching online videos.
A police officer said, "Following a rise in two wheeler thefts in Parappana Agrahara, we collected CCTV footage from the crime spots. One such clip showed four youths stealing a parked bike. Recently, our team spotted one of them and followed him."
28 motorcycles were recovered from them.
Bengaluru to get new road-cum-rail flyover at Silk Board Junction
Bengaluru's BBMP and BMRC joined hands and mutually agreed to share the cost of building an integrated flyover and metro track from Silk Board Junction to Ragigudda temple to decongest the traffic movement by 2020.
The elevated road, which would cost Rs. 800 crore, will serve as a deck for the upcoming Metro interchange stations coming at both the traffic junctions.
