Maruti Suzuki S-Cross facelift gets launched today
India's largest passenger car maker Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL) is launching a facelift model of its flagship offering, the S-Cross, today.
Despite being widely praised, this model couldn't garner major sales earlier, due to its high price.
However, Maruti Suzuki has decided to give it another go and hopefully, it'll now capture consumer fancy, fuelling brisk sales during this festive season.
Maruti Suzuki's facelifted S-Cross: what's different?
What do you get?
The initial S-Cross had no petrol option and two diesel options - Fiat-sourced 1.3 and 1.6-liter units.
The facelifted S-Cross will only have a 1.3-liter diesel engine bundled with Smart Hybrid Vehicle System.
The Maruti S-Cross's facelift is expected to compete with Hyundai Creta and the yet-to-be launched Renault Captur.
This new model comes with aesthetic improvements, additional features, and mechanical changes.
What's new in the car?
The majority of the aesthetic changes have been made on the anterior of the car, while the back and the profile have remained largely unaltered.
There's a more grille that has vertical slats inside. It's flanked by new LED projector headlamps with daytime running LEDs. The previous model had bi-xenon units. The tail lights of the car now have LED graphics.

A new color option
The bumper has been redesigned and the bonnet rejigged in the facelifted version of Maruti S Cross. Here, you get machine-cut dual-tone alloy wheels with widened tires.
While the pre-facelift model had 205/60 cross-section, the new one comes with a 215/60, within the same 16-inch profile.
The consumer also gets a new 'Nexa Blue' color option alongside the usual silver, grey, brown and white ones.
What's the pocket pinch?
Minor cabin changes have been made in the car. The facelifted model has an updated instrument cluster dials coupled with a multi-information display.
In all probability, like its predecessor, it'll also carry Maruti's SmartPlay infotainment system, automatic headlamps, rain sensing wipers, auto climate control, cruise control and other features.
The price of facelifted Maruti S Cross will start from Rs. 8.6 lakh, say reports.
