Taking on popular e-book services like Amazon Prime Reading and Kindle, Airtel has launched Airtel Books in India.
The service, available for both Airtel and non-Airtel customers, offers 70,000+ titles via a free app available on iOS and Android platforms.
As for subscription pricing, Airtel Books costs Rs. 129 for 6 months and Rs. 199 for 12 months.

Airtel Books offers over 70,000 titles including 5,000+ paid titles as part of the Airtel Books Readers Club collection.
During the 30-day trial period, you can read any 5 of these premium titles for free.
Those who subscribe to the Readers Club (Rs. 129 for 6 months and Rs. 199 for 12 months) will also get invites to book launches and free writing workshops.
Amazon Kindle Unlimited e-reader: Benefits and subscription costs
Meanwhile, the Kindle Unlimited e-reader service, available on multiple devices via the Kindle app, offers a catalog of millions of books and magazines.
It starts at Rs. 169 for an auto-renewal monthly plan, Rs. 199 for a 1 month plan, Rs. 999 for a 6 month plan, and Rs. 1,799 for an annual plan.
You also get a free trial period of 30 days.
Here's what you get with Amazon Prime Reading
Amazon Prime Reading is a free e-book service for the company's Prime members.
It is available for users on the free Kindle app and gives access to a diverse catalog of popular eBooks in literature and fiction, comics, non-fiction and in Indian languages.
Amazon Prime Reading comes as a bundled benefit with Prime membership which costs Rs. 129 per month or Rs. 999 annually.
