In a bid to take on Reliance's recently launchedJio Fiber broadband service, state-run BSNL has revised its Bharat Fiber tariffs to introduce a new Rs. 1,999 monthly plan.
The premium plan promises to offer data speed of 100Mbps along with a daily data limit of 33GB.
Here's all about the plan and how it compares with Jio's Rs. 1,299 Gold Plan.
Firstly, here's everything to know about Bharat Fiber Rs. 1,999
BSNL's new Rs. 1,999 Bharat Fiber monthly plan offers 100Mbps of broadband speed along with 33GB of data per day. Once you exhaust this data limit, you will continue to get Internet access but at a reduced speed of 4Mbps.
The new plan also allows you to make voice calls to any network across India through the company's landline service.
BSNL Bharat Fiber offers only upto 100Mbps broadband speed
While private players like ACT Fibernet, Jio Fiber, and Airtel V-fiber (offers upto 300Mbps speed) provide upto 1Gbps broadband connections, BSNL's fiber-to-the-home service provides just 100Mbps speed.
The entry-level Rs. 777 monthly plan offers upto 50Mbps speed and 500GB of data while the top-tier Rs. 16,999 plan promises upto 100Mbps broadband speed and 170GB of data per day.
Is Jio Fiber's Gold plan better than BSNL's new offering?
Now, Reliance Jio Fiber's Gold Plan, priced at Rs. 1,299, offers upto 250Mbps of broadband speed along with 500GB of data for 30 days.
The plan also comes with 250GB of extra data as part of an introductory offer, valid for the first six months.
Notably, once you exhaust the total monthly data limit, the speed will reduce to 1Mbps.
Jio Fiber's plan also comes with a bunch of freebies
The plan also comes with a host of benefits including free voice calling within the country, video calling/conferencing, zero-latency gaming, home networking, Norton security for upto 5 devices and an annual subscription of OTT apps.
Moreover, if you opt for the two-year annual Welcome Offer, you will get a free 24-inch HD TV, a 4K Jio set-top box, and Jio Home Gateway device.
