Reliance's JioFiber service is now commercially available across India. The FTTH service promises to offer up to 1Gbps download speed along with attractive freebies, with plans starting at Rs. 699/month.
In the country's growing broadband space, JioFiber faces stiff competition from the state-run BSNL which also offers competitively-priced plans.
Here, we pit them against each other with respect to their Rs. 2,499 broadband plan.
JioFiber's Rs. 2,499 'Diamond' plan: Benefits
Reliance's JioFiber 'Diamond' Plan, priced at Rs. 2,499, offers up to 500Mbps of broadband speed along with unlimited data (FUP limit: 1,250GB) for 30 days.
The plan also comes with 250GB of extra data as part of an introductory offer, valid for the first six months.
Notably, once you exhaust the total monthly data limit, the speed will reduce to 1Mbps.
Jio Fiber's plan also comes with a bunch of freebies
The plan also comes with a host of benefits including free voice calling within the country, video calling/conferencing, zero-latency gaming, home networking, Norton Security for 5 devices, VR platform access, and an annual subscription of OTT applications.
Moreover, if you opt for the annual Welcome Offer, you'll get a 24-inch HD TV, a 4K Jio set-top box, and Jio Home Gateway device for free.
What do you get with BSNL's Rs. 2,499 plan?
BSNL's Rs. 2,499 broadband plan provides up to 100Mbps of speed and 40GB of data per day. Once you exhaust the daily limit, the speed would be throttled down to 40Mbps.
As for bundled benefits, the state-run telco is offering unlimited calling benefits to any network within India and a complimentary annual subscription of Hotstar.
So, which one is better for you?
In terms of speed, data, and bundled benefits, JioFiber's Diamond plan is way better than BSNL's Rs. 2,499 broadband pack. Moreover, by subscribing to JioFiber's Welcome Offer, you can get more freebies like a TV, 4K set-top-box, double data benefit, and some discounts all well.
