Xiaomi topples Samsung, Apple in India's smartphone market

Following China, India is the biggest consumer of smartphones in Asia and is one of the key markets that keeps smartphone firms always on their edge.

However, it appears that there is a clear preference among consumers planning for their next smartphone purchase this year.

According to the recent report by Strategy Analytics, Xiaomi is currently the most preferred smartphone brand in India.

According to the report, Xiaomi with a market share of 26%, is the most preferred brand for in India.

Industry bigwigs like Apple and Samsung are lagging behind the race by being able to secure only 12% market share each.

Despite Samsung's S8 being recently introduced and Apple's anniversary edition is right around the corner, Xiaomi seems to be winning the race.

Motorola currently has a 7% market share when it comes to being the next choice of purchase.

Lenovo, the company that owns Motorola, has managed 6% market share along with OnePlus.

Surprisingly, Micromax - a home-grown product that has shifted production from China to India to support "Make in India" - is at the bottom of the list with only 2% market share.

Bang for the buck

Xiaomi wooed Indian consumers with practicality

Xiaomi, with its reasonable pricing and a huge range of products to choose from, has given the users a better bang for the buck, compared to other smartphone makers while catering to consumer demands at the mid-segment level.

It, therefore, comes as no surprise when the firm says that it has managed to have a growth of 125% year on year.

According to Manu Jain, the India head of Xiaomi, their manufacturing plant in India makes one phone every second sans lunch breaks and holidays, and 95% of Xiaomi smartphones, barring Mi5, are now getting assembled in India.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 sale on Flipkart, offers buyback guarantee

Flipkart is now offering buyback guarantees, extended shipping areas and EMI options on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4.

At a minimum cost of Rs. 249, users can get a buyback assurance of at least Rs. 4,000 on the device for six-eight months.

It will also be available for shipping in Bihar, UP and Gujarat.

EMI offers on Flipkart start as low as Rs. 631.
