Leopard thrashed to death in Gurugram village

A leopard was beaten to death by angry villagers after the leopard attacked eight people in Gurugram's Mandawar village.

The leopard attacked a 46-year-old farmer on Thursday morning, grievously injuring his shoulder and chest along with 7 others.

Villagers attacked the animal with sticks and axes until it died and paraded its corpse.

Forest officials failed to tranquilize it due to the mob.


Accused in Indirapuram's dual murder case arrested

Kale, prime accused in the Indirapuram's dual murder of cloth traders, was arrested by police yesterday.

Kale had gunned down Arshi Malik and his brother Amjad earlier this year.

The Malik household was relieved by his arrest but remain in fear as they think Kale can get them killed from inside the jail.

The family has been provided with 24-hour security cover.

Pollution levels shoot up in Gurugram

Pollution levels shoot up in Gurugram

According to pollution control board, air pollution levels shot up to the maximum level of 248u/mg in Gurugram, on Thursday evening.

Air quality index of the city is at 177, which is categorized as unhealthy.

Pollution control board is figuring out the cause for such a steep rise in pollution levels overnight.

Construction activities may be banned to improve the city's air quality.

Man arrested for raping teenage daughter

Police arrested a man for raping his teenage daughter for two years.

The daughter was last assaulted on Tuesday when her mother and brother were away from home.

The victim's teacher informed her mother of the sexual assaults after which a case was registered in Govindpuri police station.

Investigation revealed that the man was an alcoholic and had sexually assaulted a child earlier too.

Police 'inflated' numbers under Operation Muskaan

It has been alleged that Gurugram police has inflated number of children rehabilitated under Operation Muskaan.

Police had claimed to have rescued 1,500 children since 2015 under the operation.

In an investigation, 27 kids claimed to have been reconciled with their families, turned out to be fake entries.

State crime branch had also raised questions over police's data and their method of operation.

What is Operation Muskaan?

Operation Muskaan is a nationwide campaign to trace missing and destitute children and reunite them with their families. The aim of the program is to prevent children from being trafficked and to protect them from other antisocial activities.

Constable suspended for 'hitting' people at bank

A Delhi police constable, who was in charge of crowd-control outside a bank in Yamuna Vihar was suspended for hitting people with a baton.

A video clip showed the constable arguing with a woman and hitting people who came forward to help her.

The constable said that he had asked the woman to follow the line, when she was breaking the queue.
