In a shocking incident, a 19-year-old man, Salman, was allegedly shot dead by one of his friends while shooting a video for mobile app, TikTok.
The police have arrested the three friends, who were with Salman that night and a complaint has been registered against the accused.
The incident occurred inside an SUV that has been seized by the police.
Madhur Verma, Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi), said, "We have registered a case of murder under relevant IPC sections."
Two cases have been registered at the Barakhamba police station - a murder case and a case under Arms Act. The SUV is also kept there.
As the case is under investigation, the police have decided not to give out any more details.
Police has begun the investigation to find out what exactly happened inside Salman's car. The autopsy report is also awaited.
Meanwhile, Haji Shakir, Salman's father, told that Salman was asked by his friends to join them that evening.
He left around 9PM and later that night, the police received a call from the Lok Nayak Hospital about a gunshot wound victim.
After the incident that happened on Ranjit Singh flyover, adjacent to Barakhamba Road in central Delhi, one of Salman's friends drove him to the hospital.
Salman was allegedly shot in his face, cops said.
Shakir received a call from the cops at 11.30PM about his son's demise.
"His friends were supposed to look after him but they killed him instead," an uncontrollable Shakir said.
Although the three accused left the hospital after admitting him, the police tracked them down after talking to Shakir. They have also recovered the pistol.
Salman, who lived with his parents in New Jaffrabad, Shahdara, New Delhi, used to help his father with their leather jacket business.
He had an elder sister, who got married just a week back, said police.
TikTok is a Chinese app, also known as Douyin, which allows users to create short videos with special effects and share them on various social media platforms.
Earlier this month, Madras High Court sought a ban on the app for encouraging child abuse, suicides, pornographic and other inappropriate content.
As per some reports, the company is awaiting the court's orders to take appropriate action.
