Delhi has been put on high-alert with intelligence inputs suggesting that the capital may be targeted by the Islamic State to "avenge" the encounter killing of the terrorist in Lucknow.

Two arms suppliers allegedly in touch with the IS Khorasan module were arrested.

AIIMS closes 'VIP' counter after backlash

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi on Thursday shut down a counter specially reserved for providing treatment to "VIPs" and patients recommended by the Union Health Minister's office.

According to sources, the decision was taken after Union Health Minister JP Nadda expressed his discontent towards the same.

The faculty association of AIIMS also condemned "promoting VIP culture" in the institute's premises.

Another case of 'Children's Bank of India' notes surfaces

A youth who withdrew money from an ICICI ATM near Amar Colony received Rs. 2,000 notes from 'Children's Bank of India.'

This incident comes shortly after the arrest of a cash custodian for putting similar fake notes in an SBI ATM at Sangam Vihar.

The case has been transferred to the Crime Branch for investigating the source of the notes.

Free commercial basement parking exempted from property tax

The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) had excluded basements used exclusively for parking in group housing complexes from property tax.

After reviewing the Central Government's notification on property tax for commercial spaces, MCG excluded areas not using parking for profit interests.

The Corporation decided to extend the exemption to commercial spaces which provide basement parking for free such as private hospitals, malls, hotels, etc.


Secutiry personnel will supervise vote counting in Ghaziabad

Vote-counting in Ghaziabad on 11th March will be supervised by a three-tier security personnel.

This personnel will comprise of 600 police and paramilitary personnel apart from the 500 personnel for vote counting.

Candidates and their supporters will be disallowed from taking out 'victory processions'; candidates will be escorted back home after declaration of results.

The vote counting will start at 8:30 am.

Noida authority seals flats and shops in illegal building

The Noida Authority recently sealed an unauthorized building with 106 flats and 26 shops which was recently built in Phase 2 of the Nagla Charandas area.

The developer of the building was continuously notified by the authority to stop constructing on government land since July 2015.

Yet, he continued construction on land acquired by the government for development purposes.
