AIIMS nurses on strike, take 'mass casual leave'
Over 2,000 staff nurses from the All India Institute of Medical Services (AIIMS) went on a mass casual leave on Friday in the pursuit of better wages.
Emergency services remained non-functional and Operation Theatres are conducting only essential surgeries.
If demands go unmet, the nurses' Union will go on an indefinite strike beginning 27th March.

CM Arvind Kejriwal wrote to his party workers and volunteers in order to increase their morale and pushed them to 'keep the faith' alive.
He asked the workers to keep up the fight and also wrote "hum honge kamyaab."
Noida: Rs.3,800 to homes decimated in fire
After clearing out approximately 30 shanties in a major fire in Sector 78, city magistrate and other officers of Gautam Budh Nagar distributed cheques worth Rs. 3,800 to all families that were affected.
According to Ramanuj Singh, the city magistrate, the families were compensated only for their belongings and food supply and not for housing as they were living illegally on Noida Authority land.

Call, chat records of JNU student Muthukrishnan being probed
The alleged suicide of J.Muthukrishnan, a 27-year-old M.Phil student from Jawaharlal Nehru University is being investigated.
His call and chat records are being analyzed, and his phone and laptop have been dispatched to foreign experts for examining his messages.
According to a police officer, Muthukrishnan spoke to two friends hours before he allegedly committed suicide.
Delhi-Gurugram expressway choked due to underpass construction
The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has barricaded both sides of the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway at Signature Tower crossing for the underpass project.
The barricade has brought the eight-lane expressway down to six lanes.
More than 10 minutes are spent by commuters trying to pass through the 50-metre barricaded stretch.
Travel time extends even further when machines take up additional lanes of the expressway.
Dhoni, team members escape uninjured from hotel fire
The Jharkhand cricket team along with their captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni escaped unhurt from a fire that broke out in a five-start hotel in Dwarka.
According to the police, approximately 540 guests were at the hotel; Dhoni and his team-members were eating breakfast when they had to be evacuated.
The semi-final match against Bengal in the Vijay Hazare Trophy has been postponed to Saturday.
