Talks between truckers and insurance regulators fail, strike could escalate
On Monday, talks between truckers and insurance brokers co-ordianated by the Transport Ministry failed, increasing the possibility of the continuity of the strike.
The truckers are on strike against the 41% increase in third party insurance premium.
According to sources, both sides refused to move away from their respective agendas and hence there was no conclusion.
Over 4,000 nominations filed altogether for municipal polls
Out of the 4,392 nominations, 3,415 were filed on Monday itself.
1,703, 1,725 and 944 nominations were filed for the North Delhi Municipal Corporation, South Delhi Municipal Corporation and East Delhi Municipal Corporation respectively.

Delhi bus commuters inhale less carbon than those in cars
According to a study on environmental research, bus travellers in Delhi are exposed to lesser amounts of soot (black carbon) as compared to persons who use alternate means of transport-even those travelling by car.
Commuters travelling by autorickshaws are exposed to inhaling the most amount of soot.
The reason for buses being safer is their usage of CNG as fuel.
