The Delhi Government undertook surprise checks at 20 petrol pumps against their alleged illegal activities.

The exercise follows complaints of alleged irregularities like short dispensing of fuel etc. in different petrol pumps across neighbouring states.

The checks were ordered by Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Imran Hussein.

CrimeRaped by neighbour, 3-year-old undergoes surgery

On Wednesday morning, a 3-year-old was allegedly raped by her neighbour in Delhi's Anand Parbat.

Having suffered injuries around her private parts, the girl underwent a minor surgery; police say she's stable and recovering.

The accused has been identified as Vijay, a 22-year-old daily wage worker.

He was arrested after being caught in the act by the girl's parents and their neighbours.

On Tuesday night, 2 men were arrested by the Special Cell in Uttam Nagar for possessing 4kgs of heroine worth Rs. 16 crore.

The accused, Darbara Singh alias Billa and Sandeep alias Ajay, both hail from Punjab.

Darbara Singh is one of the "most wanted" heroine suppliers and an associate of an infamous drug lord currently lodged in Nabha Jail, Punjab.

InfrastructureNehru Place, 2 other markets' revamp to commence soon

The renovation of 3 prime markets in South Delhi-Nehru Place, Bikaji Cama Place and Basant Lok Market is going to begin soon as their maintenance has been handed over to the Delhi Development Authority (DDA).

According to sources, approximately Rs. 80 crore has been allocated for the project.

Under the refurbishment process, DDA will repair the facade of buildings, fix piazzas, renovate pavements etc.

NoidaOver 200 'unfit' school buses running in Noida, Ghaziabad

According to official data from the transport department, over 200 school buses are currently operating without a fitness certificate from the transport department in Gautam Budh Nagar and Ghaziabad.

In June 2016, the number of school buses operating without fitness certificates in Gautum Budh Nagar was 156; this number remained unchanged till February 2017.

GurugramHUDA contemplates construction of flyover to decongest traffic

The Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) is planning on constructing a flyover between the HUDA City Centre Metro station and Fortis Hospital for the decongestion of traffic.

The additional road/flyover is likely to be built between Sushant Lok and Subhash Chowk.

A consultant, appointed by HUDA, will examine the feasibility of the project on 15th May, after which tenders will be floated.
