A billion dreams of the 'Cricket God'

The trailer of Sachin Tendulkar's much-awaited biopic, 'Sachin: A Billion Dreams' is finally out.

The two-minute clip takes us on a journey to relive the old moments, including the 1983 World Cup victory, and features snippets from the ups and downs of Sachin's career and personal life.

The film, directed by Emmy award winner James Erskine, will hit the screens on 26 May 2017.

8 Jan 2015Sachin to make debut as actor soon

It was announced that master blaster Sachin Tendulkar would soon make his acting debut in a feature-film, which would capture his life beyond cricket.

The film would be made by 200 Not Out-a Mumbai-based production company with over 150 advertisements and short films to its credit.

200 Not Out had roped in James Erskine, an award-winning director, writer, and producer as the film's director.

Rights bagged from World Sports Group

The movie's filming started in 2014 after 200 Not Out had bagged the rights to make the film from World Sports Group (WSG), which manages the brands and commercials of Sachin Tendulkar across the world.

8 Jan 2015Film to include Sachin's childhood

The filmmakers had sought permission from cricket boards across the world to access video footage from the past which would be used for the film.

Apart from cricket, the film would include Sachin's childhood and personal life, which were never known before.

Ravi Bhagchandka, the founder of 200 Not Out stated that a sports broadcasting company had bagged the marketing rights for the movie.

Sachin film’s teaser poster released

On 11 April 2016, Sachin released the teaser poster for his upcoming film- ‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams’. The poster read: "55 Days of training. One pair of trousers. The Sachin story."

15 Apr 2016Arjun played Sachin's reel younger version

Sachin Tendulkar's son, Arjun would be seen portraying his father's younger version in Sachin's film.

According to the makers, they had tried their best to search for a young boy who looked like Sachin, had similar mannerisms, and played like him as well.

But, when they couldn't find one, Arjun was brought on board and filmmakers felt that he did justice to his role.

21 May 2017Sachin's biopic will reveal new sides to fans

With just five days left for the release of Sachin Tendulkar's biopic, "Sachin: A Billion Dreams" starring the cricket god himself, Sachin revealed that the film is about the "highs and lows" of his life.

The movie, featuring real footage along with newly shot parts, will include inputs from Sachin's immediate circle, and will reveal facets of his persona yet unknown to his fans.
