Mumbai high-rise fire: Deepika says she is safe

After a massive fire broke out at her residential complex in Worli, Mumbai, Deepika Padukone took to Twitter to inform her well-wishers that she is safe.

She thanked her fans for their concern and appealed them to pray for the firefighters who are carrying out the rescue operations at the BeauMonde Towers at Prabhadevi.

At least 100 residents were evacuated safely after the fire broke out on the 33rd floor of the building.

As per officials, the fire was seen around 2:10 pm on the uppermost floors.

Soon, more than a dozen fire-tenders arrived on the spot to battle the blaze.

The firefighting operations are still underway.

Deepika was away for an ad shoot

The fire department officials said that Deepika was not inside the building when it caught fire. She had gone to shoot for an advertisement. However, her staff members were among those who were evacuated.
