Shahid Kapoor sent fans in a frenzy when he had said he would be teaming up with Imtiaz Ali for a film, but the project never happened, and Imtiaz says he never announced it in the first place.
In December last year, Shahid expressed excitement about teaming up with his 'Jab We Met' director for a new film with an interesting subject.
Shahid said he would start shooting for the Imtiaz movie after finishing his upcoming release 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu'.
Later there were reports that the project was shelved and Shahid said the film is not happening this year.
However, Imtiaz, in an interview, said, "I never said I'm working with Shahid Kapoor. Jisne bola usko bolo (Talk to the person who spoke about it)."
Imtiaz last directed Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Jab Harry Met Sejal' and the filmmaker says he has currently written four stories and has developed two screenplays.
"I have turned producer so I have to keep some material ready. So once these four scripts are ready, depending upon the availability of the suitable actors, I will start working," Imtiaz said.
'Jab We Met', the rom-com which marked Shahid's first-film with Imtiaz was a huge success at the box-office.
Imtiaz, in an interview, had said that the film almost shelved as Bobby Deol was supposed to play Shahid's role and Bobby had suggested doing the movie later.
Later, when Shahid signed for the movie, Imtiaz said he was the only one confident about the movie.
