5 Emmy nominations that has gotten fans all excited
The 70th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards will air on September 17, 2018.
It awards the best television shows of the year, and it is an incredible honor for the shows to be acknowledged.
Usually, the nominations are divided into comedy and drama. Some of the most exciting nominations this year are 'The Handmaid's Tale', 'Game of Thrones', 'Westworld', 'The Crown', 'Stranger Things' and 'Atlanta'.
#1: Play to win for the biggest show on earth
'Game of Thrones' has the highest number of nominations - 22 to be exact. While quite a few nominations are for technical categories, fans are looking forward to seeing the saga of Westeros win big.
As the show wraps up, the story has become fast-paced, and no character is safe from death.
Here's hoping a little Emmy validation makes the final season even better.
#2: High hopes from reigning champions
'The Handmaid's Tale' was one of the biggest winners in 2017. The show based on Margaret Atwood's dystopian novel explored themes of feminism in a grim world where patriarchy had directly moved onto military levels of misogyny.
The show won two major awards for outstanding writing and being an outstanding series.
One hopes this show wins again, so that more socially relevant shows get made.

#3: Upside Down is about to get stranger
Netflix's famous show 'Stranger Things' wowed everyone with the stellar acting, and crisp writing.
The show retained the nostalgic vibes of classic sci-fi movies. The second season also developed on the pivotal theme of the friendship among the children.
However, we are excited to see how Season 2 does at the awards as this writer opines it was not as good as Season 1.
#4: To err is human, to continue erring, Westworld-like
'Westworld' has 21 nominations in this year's Emmy, making it the second highest nominated show.
The dystopic science-fiction tale of robots rising up against the creators in an amusement park has socially relevant themes and is underscored by beautiful music.
While the first season had been quite successful, thanks to Sir Anthony Hopkins, the second season is yet to prove itself at the awards.
#5: And one for the subversive comedy
Donald Glover is one of the most appreciated people in the industry, both for his show 'Atlanta' and his career as the rapper, Childish Gambino.
Glover's show deals with the problems people of color face in society. He weaves comedy excellently to make a fantastic show.
Hopefully, Season 2, which has been nominated in quite a few categories, will get the much-deserved validation.
