Game of Thrones is currently a cultural phenomenon, being the most popular show globally.
Perhaps this is why we have started getting hyped about a prequel spin-off to the show even before the final season starts airing.
While we already know about the major casting for the upcoming prequel, recent news informed about other cast members and the director.
Read all about it here.
The yet-to-be named prequel is set thousands of years before the events of Westeros unfolded in Game of Thrones.
It would show the transition from the Golden Age of Heroes to the darkest hour, presumably, the creation of White Walkers.
The story will delve into the mysteries of the east, something only hinted at in the current show, and explore the legendary Starks.
Although HBO's show remains untitled, A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones' source series) author George RR Martin has dubbed it The Long Night. The title hints that the prequel will show the creation of White Walkers and the famous War for Dawn.
The upcoming prequel spin-off is being spearheaded by Jane Goldman, who has films like Kingsman: The Secret Service to her name.
Notably, Watts is famous for playing roles in acclaimed movies like Mulholland Drive and Birdman.
Whitehouse has acted in Northern Soul and BBC series Poldark.
Announcement about the pilot director was also made.
SJ Clarkson, famous for Dexter, Orange is the New Black, and Jessica Jones will helm it.
New cast members include Naomi Ackie, Denise Gough from Juliet Naked, Jamie Campbell Bower and Toby Regbo who played young Grindelwald and Dumbledore respectively, in Fantastic Beasts, Sheila Atim from Harlots, Georgie Henley of Narnia, Alex Sharp and Ivanno Jeremiah.
Although we know the cast members and the director, not much is known. The roles of these cast members are being kept under wraps, but seeing the young cast overall, these will be the major characters who will one day lead Westeros, we believe.
