#GRAMMYs: All the biggest winners at 2019 Grammy awards

The Grammys are to music what the Oscars are to movies.

The 61st Grammy Awards just wrapped up and this was a year of massive victories for country and rap music.

With several powerhouses of talent, being among the list of nominees, it was a tough competition.

Big winners

Childish Gambino and Kacey Musgraves win big at 2019 Grammys

Childish Gambino and Kacey Musgraves emerged as the biggest winners, with 4 awards each.

Gambino's This is America won Song and Record of the Year. It became the first rap song to win the songwriting award at Grammys. It also won for rap/sung performance and music video.

Musgraves won album of the year, best country album, best country solo performance, and best country song.


Lady Gaga and Brandi Carlile, each took home three awards

Lady Gaga won three awards for best pop solo performance, and two including, best song written for visual media and best pop duo/group performance for Shallow, the hit duo she performed with A Star is Born co-star Bradley Cooper.

Brandi Carlile, the Roots performer, won for best Americana album, best American Roots song, and performance, for her acclaimed song, The Joke.

Other notable victories at this year's Grammys

Dua Lipa was the surprising winner in this year's Grammys in the Best New Artist category, which was rather competitive.

Soundgarden's Chris Cornell was posthumously recognized for Best Rock Performance, for the song When Bad Does Good, which was released after his death in 2017.

Ariana Grande won the first Grammy award of her career, in Best Pop Vocal Album category, for Sweetener.


This year's Grammys was hosted by 'Fallin'' singer Alicia Keys

The best R&B album and performance went to H.E.R.

Cardi B won for best rap album, while Drake won for the best rap song.

Masseduction was recognized as the best rock song, while Greta Van Fleet won for best rock album.

Beck won for best alternative music album.

Notably, Grammys 2019 was hosted by Alicia Keys and took place at Staples Center, Los Angeles.
