Kevin Feige says 'Black Widow' will not be R-rated
The standalone film will be a prequel and will explore the life of Natasha Romanoff or Black Widow before she joined the Avengers.
Now Marvel President Kevin Feige has confirmed the movie's rating.
Bad news for fans who wanted R-rated 'Black Widow' movie
Feige has bad news for fans who expected to see some ultraviolence from Black Widow's character in the upcoming movie which was expected to be R-rated, as we reported.
He overturned all hopes, saying that making it R-rated was never even under consideration.
Feige officially confirmed that he was quashing the rumor about the Black Widow movie getting anything but a PG-13 rating.
Feige quashes rumors and hopes in his statement
Feige interviewed with comicbook.com, saying, "It never was going to be [R-rated]. Somebody writes, 'I hear it's R-rated!' And then everybody writes it up". He was asked if he was officially quashing this rumor and replied, saying, "Yes. Correct."

A little about the 'Black Widow' movie
For those unaware, the Black Widow movie will be directed by Cate Shortland.
Although the film does not have a release date yet, we know it will be a prequel.
Scarlett Johansson, who first appeared as the character in Iron Man 2, will reprise her role as the super spy and is set to earn $15 million or Rs. 106 crore for the movie.
Marvel will start making R-rated movies soon
While Marvel's movies are all PG-13, some films starring Marvel characters like Blade, Punisher and Deadpool have been R-rated.
Now that Disney has acquired 21st Century Fox, CEO Bob Iger has assured that the Deadpool films will continue being R-rated despite being under the ownership of the family-friendly company, indicating that Marvel could soon foray beyond a PG-13 rating for their superhero movies.
