Sanjay Leela Bhansali opens up on his fight with Salman
Their coming together was much celebrated, but it also brought back Salman and Bhansali's fight in the limelight once again.
And now Bhansali has opened up on his tiff with Salman, and admitted that the two had some issues in the past.
Here is more.
We've had issues, but never dwelled in the past: Bhansali
Talking about the same, Bhansali stated that although he and Salman had a difference of opinions, they didn't dwell on the past during their sporadic meetings.
"We've had a few issues in the past but whenever we met, even sporadically, we took up from where we'd left off without dwelling on the past and the difference of opinions we might have had," he said.
Bhansali offended Salman when he made 'Devdas' with SRK
To recall, Salman and Bhansali's association started way back in 1996 when the ace filmmaker made his debut with Khamoshi: The Musical.
Although the movie tanked, the actor-director duo returned with a bang in 1999 with Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, which was a massive hit.
However, things turned sour between them when Bhansali made Devdas with Salman's arch-rival Shah Rukh Khan in 2002.
My fondness for him is pure, Bhansali on Salman
After years of cold war between them, Salman and Bhansali seem to have reconciled and are collaborating for Inshallah.
In fact, the 56-year-old director is unable to stop gushing about his love for Salman.
"My fondness for him is pure, and Salman, once he offers his friendship, even if you don't meet or talk in five years, he's there waiting for you," Bhansali added.
'Inshallah' is the right film for us: Bhansali
Notably, Bhansali's quite excited about Inshallah and calls it a perfect movie for collaborating with Salman.
"After Khamoshi, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Saawariya, he and I needed to make one film together, if not 10 more. I'm glad Inshallah happened. From my understanding of him as an actor and a superstar, I know this is the right film for us," he said.
'I want my 10th film to be my best'
Furthermore, Bhansali added that Inshallah will mark his 10th directorial and he has high hopes for it.
"I've been working on it for last year-and-a-half to take my mind off things that were happening at the time. I wrote and reworked till I felt it was ready, then, went to Salman. It's my 10th film, I want it to be my best," he added.
'Inshallah' to hit floors in December this year
Apart from Salman, Inshallah will also star Alia Bhatt in the lead and is expected to hit the floors in December this year.
Reportedly, Bhansali wants Alia and Salman to finish off their respective professional commitments.
Currently, Alia is gearing up for Kalank, which will be releasing on April 17.
Meanwhile, Salman is looking forward to the release of Bharat on this year's Eid.
