Rare 'Game of Thrones' scenes that actually made us chuckle

Funny is not an adjective one uses to describe Game of Thrones.

The series is dark, bloody, interesting, cerebral, but not funny.

Humor, however, has a way of creeping in the unlikeliest of places.

Even in a series like GoT, there are instances that have made viewers laugh or at least smile.

Let's have a look at some of these rare scenes.

Scene 1

Several titles of Daenerys v/s Jon Snow's single title

Several titles of Daenerys v/s Jon Snow's single title

When Jon is introduced to Daenerys in The Queen's Justice, Missandei announces: "You stand in the presence of Daenerys Stormborn...," and continued with over seven different titles.

In response, Ser Davos (after being urged by Jon) musters: "This is Jon Snow *long pause* he's King in the North."

This scene contrasts the personalities of the two. And is made even better by everyone's reactions.

Scene 2

The game of Chairs with Tywin Lannister and the council

In Walk of Punishment, Tywin Lannister calls for a council meeting. Everyone wants to sit next to him.

Littlefinger cuts in line but Cersei puts a chair in front of him, giving a sarcastic look to Tyrion.

In turn, the Imp audibly drags his chair to the far end of the table, sits, and says, "Intimate. Lovely Table."

Like. A. Boss.

Scene 3

Tormund Giantsbane: Raider of the Free Folk, Admirer of Brienne

Tormund Giantsbane: Raider of the Free Folk, Admirer of Brienne

Tormund is a leader of the Free Folk who admires Jon Snow, his enemy-turned-friend.

In Season 6, he develops a different kind of admiration for Brienne of Tarth, never missing a chance to give her a flirtatious glance.

He looks at her while slowly biting into a chicken and even gives her a beautiful smile!

She still remains unimpressed, only God knows why!

Scene 4

Renly Baratheon, maker of jokes, heir to the throne

In season 2, Renly meets his brother Stannis Baratheon and Melisandre.

They have an exchange with Melisandre telling him, "You should kneel before your brother. He's the Lord's chosen, born amidst salt and smoke."

Now, Stannis has an army and a Red Woman who practises dangerous magic.

Unfazed, Renly replies, "'Born amidst salt and smoke...' Is he a ham?"

Seeing him die was sad.
