Starring Ayushmann Khurrana, 'Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan' features gay romance
Following the success of Shubh Mangal Savdhan, a 2017 film that deals with erectile dysfunction, producer Aanand L. Rai brings to you a sequel titled Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan.
The teaser was revealed by actor Ayushmann Khurrana, the lead actor in the film, who also starred in the first installment of the franchise.
But this time around, the story is a bit different.
'Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhaan' details '100% natural' love story
The super quirky 50-second Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan teaser details all the love stories that we have seen since the age of man — in literature, music, and film.
The teaser then moves on to mention the love stories that were only in the shadows, and to some extent, continue to be even today: the "100% prakritik (natural)" same-sex love story.
Khurrana teases the film on Twitter

Khurrana assures the film handles homosexuality 'really sensitively'
Khurrana called it "a beautiful story told in the quintessential Aanand Rai style of filmmaking that will touch your hearts and leave a smile on your face."
"It's an out and out entertaining film that will also make you think and that's the hallmark of good cinema," he added.
Khurrana assured that the film handled the subject of homosexuality "really sensitively."
Success of first film encouraged Rai to form the franchise
Rai said, "With Zyada Saavdhan, we have a great story in hand and who better, but Ayushmann to play the lead since he brings a whole new level of expression to the table."
Further, he said that the success of the first film encouraged him to turn this into a franchise which handles "taboo subjects in the most light-hearted manner."
Khurrana's films usually deal with taboo love stories
Khurrana has made a space for himself as the only mainstream actor who picks movies with social messaging revolving around sex and relationships, such as Vicky Donor (2012), Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015), Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (2017), Badhaai Ho (2018).
Earlier this year, Sonam Kapoor-starrer Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, which featured a lesbian romance, became Bollywood's first mainstream LGBTQ-themed movie.
The film is slated for a Valentine's Day 2020 release
Only Khurrana has been brought on-board till now. The rest of the cast is to be decided. Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan will release on Valentine's Day 2020. It'll be directed by Hitesh Kewalya, who wrote the screenplay and dialogues for the first film.
