Could Bran Stark be the Lord of Light?

'GoT' theory: Is Bran Stark Lord of Light's physical embodiment?

When the Great War against the dead was raging, Bran told Theon "I'm going to go now," and warged into some crows, presumably to spy on the Night King.

But in a show like Game of Thrones, a key character wouldn't just stay out of the scene without a major reason.

What if Bran was doing something more?

Here's an interesting theory about that.

The Interview

A pivotal part of this Reddit-theory was hinted by GRRM

A pivotal part of this Reddit-theory was hinted by GRRM

Suggested by a Redditor, this theory goes back to an old George RR Martin interview.

When asked about Beric Dondarrion's resurrection, he said, "[Beric's] not a living human being anymore. His heart isn't beating, his blood isn't flowing in his veins, he's a wight, but a wight animated by fire instead of by ice, now we're getting back to the whole fire-and-ice thing."

Explanation

GRRM's interview established the dynamic between R'hllor and Night King

R'hllor, the Lord of Light worshipped by Melisandre and Beric, has a polar opposite known as the Great Other (who gives powers to the Night King).

When the Great Other has his representative in the world, and R'hllor being his polar opposite, it only makes sense that R'hllor has a physical embodiment as well.

It's possible that this is Bran Stark, the three-eyed-raven.

So what was Bran doing after all?

So what was Bran doing after all?

As seen with Hodor, it has been established that Bran can warg in the past and even alter it to an extent.

Now that he has much better control over his powers, it is possible that he is trying to alter the past as per the will of R'hllor.

The theory states that everything leading to the Night King's death was Bran's doing.

The Dagger

Think about it. Who gave Arya the Valyrian Steel dagger?

Bran might have warged way back during the events of season 1 and influenced the events that led to the dagger being in his possession.

In season 7, he gave the dagger to Arya and during the war, ensured that his 'subjects' did everything to lead her to the Night King.

It was a trap set by Bran/R'hllor that sacrificed Beric and Melisandre.

Questions

With Night King gone, how will future events play out?

With Night King gone, how will future events play out?

Now that Arya has destroyed the symbol of darkness, there is no balance. Maybe Cersei or Daenerys will become the next foil to R'hllor.

The theory does leave some questions. If the people resurrected by R'hllor are akin to Wights and the actual Wights got destroyed when the Night King died, will Jon die if Bran died?

Just two episodes left to find out!
