And if recent reports are to be believed, the talented actor is planning to take a break from movies now.
According to Bollywood Hungama, Irrfan won't be signing any movie after the current one.
"He may do one film at time, or none at all after Angrezi Medium," said a filmmaker-friend.
"Irrfan has taken on one assignment Angrezi Medium, and that's it. He will complete this film and then decide the course of his career in future. There is no question of taking on any new assignment at the moment," the source was quoted as saying.
Irrfan has decided to go slow after suffering from Neuroendocrine tumor, a rare form of caner.
The filmmaker-friend added, "Irrfan's entire perception on life and career has changed. He no longer feels the need to push himself. He may do one film at time, or none at all after Angrezi Medium. It all depends on his health and his state of mind."
To recall, Irrfan was diagnosed with Neuroendocrine tumor in March last year. He had gone to London for treatment.
While it was speculated that the actor is battling brain tumor, Irrfan cleared the air about his disease.
"I got to know, it was rare, and due to fewer study cases, and less information comparatively, the unpredictability of the treatment was more," the 52-year-old mentioned.
Coming back to Angrezi Medium, director Homi Adajania, after wrapping up the shooting, penned an overwhelming post and thanked the team for the "emotional roller-coaster."
He also shared a heart-touching picture of himself with Irrfan where the actor is seen resting his head on the former's shoulder.
"Irrfan Khan, you are incredible. I love you more than I know how to say," Homi wrote.
I wanted to do this film knowing it would be against the odds. I wanted to do it for all the wrong reasons to make a film but they just seemed so right and still do. It’s been an emotional roller coaster more than anything else and I know how hard it’s been for everyone. Irrfan Khan, you are incredible ... and you’re a decent actor as well 😂. I love you more than I know how to say. Thank you to my crew and cast for not letting the odds stack up against us. I truly believe that our collective positivity and celebration of life allowed us this. Regardless of this film’s fate, it’s shown me a lighter way of being and I’ll always cherish this. 😊🙏 #itsawrap #angrezimedium #adioslondon @irrfan #iflifegivesyoulemonsgrabsometequila 📷 @harjeetsphotography @maddockfilms 🙏 #dineshvijan

Talking about it, Homi stated, "We've been wanting to collaborate for the longest time and I'd often dream of that day".
