With an earning of $65mn (approx Rs. 466 crore) during June 2018-June 2019, he is the only Bollywood actor to secure a position in the list this year.
Interestingly, he has beaten the likes of Jackie Chan, Chris Evans, etc for the slot.
The list of Forbes World's Highest-Paid Actors was topped by Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson with an earning of $89.4mn (around Rs. 639 crore) during that period. He was followed by Chris Hemsworth and Robert Downey Jr., with an income of $76.4mn and $66mn respectively.
Terming the 51-year-old superstar as "Bollywood's top-earning star," the magazine noted that he earns $5-10mn per film.
A significant chunk of Akshay's earnings also come from his endorsement deals, which he has with over 20 brands.
Notably, Akshay was ranked 33rd in the Forbes' list of World's Highest-Paid Celebrities (male and female) 2019, making him the only Indian celebrity in the coveted list.
It also needs to be pointed out that this is the second consecutive year that Bollywood's Khiladi secured a slot in the prestigious list. In 2018, Akshay was the seventh highest-paid actor in the world, with an earning of $40.5mn that year.
On the work front, the actor-producer was last seen in Mission Mangal, which is still enjoying a glorious run at the box office.
Based on ISRO's Mars Orbiter Mission/Mangalyaan, the movie has raked in Rs. 121.23 crore in seven days, and refuses to slow down anytime soon.
Interestingly, Mission Mangal, which started with a collection of Rs. 29.16 crore became Akshay's highest-opener so far.
Meanwhile, Akshay has several other big projects in the pipeline.
He will also be seen in Bachchan Pandey, Housefull 4 and Laxmmi Bomb.
There are reports that Akshay will also be collaborating with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for the sequel of Rowdy Rathore.
