Amitabh Bachchan has proved to be the ultimate supporter of feminism and women empowerment.
He has recently revealed that his property will be divided equally between his son, Abhishek, and daughter, Shweta Nanda.
This goes against the usual social norm, where daughters don't inherit their parental wealth, as after marriage, she is considered to be a part of her husband's family's lineage.
This isn't the first time he has made this announcement
Further pushing the cause of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign as its ambassador, Bachchan has reiterated that his son alone will not have the full authority to his property.
The 76-year-old, upon being asked about his will, said both his children will get equal share of his wealth.
Notably, this is not the first time he has made this remarkable decision.
Earlier in 2017, he posted a tweet about the same
Earlier in 2017, the superstar took to Twitter to announce the same.
On March 2, he posted a tweet with the hashtags, #WeAreEqual and #genderequality, along with a black and white picture showing him holding a placard, in which it was written, "When I die, the assets that I shall leave behind shall be shared equally between my daughter and my son! #GenderEquality #WeAreEqual."
Big B treats, celebrates both of of his children equally
It's a known fact that Big B treats both of his children equally, celebrating their individual achievements with the same excitement.
Earlier this year, when Shweta's debut novel Paradise Towers became one of the bestselling fiction books, he wrote, "Nothing brings greater pride to a father than this achievement of a daughter. Daughters are special. From this little 'ghunghat (veil)' to the 'best seller'."
Daughters are special, Bachchan Sr. had declared earlier this year
