Superman is known as the Man of Steel. He is one of the most iconic DC superheroes. Over his years of appearance in comics, this powerful Kryptonian has gone up against some of the most dangerous villains like Darkseid and Doomsday in the DC universe and has come out on top. However, here we bring, five DC villains Superman could never defeat. Superman's strength is no match to Nekron's who is considered the Lord of the Unliving. When he faces off against the literal embodiment of death in The Blackest Night, Nekron uses black rings to trap Superman and members of Justice League, turning them into zombies. Since Superman had already died in Doomsday's hands before this, Nekron's black ring takes advantage and kills Superman again. While the former villain led to a metaphorical death of Superman, Harley Quinn literally defeated the Man of Steel. However, there is one caveat, Superman had his powers removed. In Harley's Little Black Book #5, an alien race called Scrub force a fight between Harley and Superman. Without powers, Superman can't stand up against Harley who knocks him unconscious for a day. Parallax, a cosmic entity, is the embodiment of evil and chaos in DC. When Hal Jordan acts as the host to Parallax, the entity sets out to recreate the universe without Superman. The Kryptonian tries to stop this, but the combined powers of Parallax and Hal are too much. Superman is defeated and forced to watch the destruction of the universe unfold before him. Trigon is an evil demonic lord and one of the most powerful characters in DC. He is also the father of Raven, a member of the Teen Titans. In Injustice: Gods Among Us, Year 3 #18, Trigon began attacking Superman, believing he had hurt Raven. The attack nearly killed Superman. Notably, Trigon has never been defeated by any member of the Justice League. Monarch is a sheer beast and an agent of chaos. In Countdown: Arena, he forces superheroes to battle for a spot in his army. When Superman and the Justice League try to stop him, he swats them away like flies. Monarch might be arrogant, but it is warranted when the Man of Steel is forced to run away from your beatings.
