Ever since the results of recently-concluded Assembly polls in Maharashtra came out, there has been mystery over who will get the Chief Minister's seat.
And while political leaders fail to bring forth a solution to the ongoing tussle between the BJP and Shiv Sena, a particular Twitter user has suggested that Bollywood veteran Anil Kapoor should be given the top post.
What went wrong in Maharashtra?
Before the October 21 state assembly elections in Maharashtra, the ruling BJP and Shiv Sena formed a pre-poll alliance to take on their opponents.
Post results, taking advantage of BJP's below par performance, junior partner Sena asked for greater participation in the new government.
The latter wants Aaditya Thackeray, Sena chief Uddhav's son, to be made CM for half the term in new government.
"Until Maharashtra reaches a solution, let's make Kapoor the CM"
Referencing to his 2001 hit film Nayak, wherein Kapoor played the role of a one-day Chief Minister, the user opined:
"Maharashtra mein jab tak koi rasta nahi nikalta, tab tak Anil kapoor ko hi mukhyamantri bana kar dekh lete hain. Parde par unka ek din ka karyalay poore desh ne dekha aur saraha hai. Devendra Fadnavis aur Aaditya Thackeray, kya soch hai?"
And, here's how Kapoor reacted to the 'offer'
Responding to the tweet, Kapoor humbly wrote, "Main Nayak hi theek hu (I'm better off as an actor)."
Notably, Nayak was a political thriller movie, directed by S. Shankar. The film portrays the story of an ambitious TV reporter who is challenged by the sitting CM to take up the post for one day.
It also stars Rani Mukerji, Amrish Puri, and Paresh Rawal.
