A couple of weeks back, the first song from Salman Khan's much-awaited cop-drama Dabangg 3 came out.
The video song, Hud Hud, which has become synonymous with the popular franchise, had several astonishing visuals like Khan cracking open the ground with his bare hands and even emitting fire from his mouth (literally!).
But, the video has now irked some Hindu followers. Here's why.
The song has several shots, wherein many Hindu saints can be seen brandishing guitars and shaking a leg with the 53-year-old superstar, in the backdrop of ghats and temples.
The sequences have drawn a lot of flak, especially from Hindu followers, who have accused the makers of hurting their religious sentiments.
They took on Twitter to show their displeasure, and used the hashtag #BoycottDabangg3.
Furthermore, a right-wing NGO, called the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti has moved the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), demanding the deletion of these allegedly "hideous and objectionable" scenes depicting Hinduism in bad light, and even asked for a stay on the movie's certification, until then.

However, soon after the #BoycottDabangg3 trend surfaced, several fans of Khan took to the micro-blogging website to support their favorite star, thereby heaping praises on him and his upcoming movie, and even trended #AwaitingDabangg3 in response.

It should be noted that this is not the first such case. Previously, films like Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat, Amit Khan starrer PK, and Akshay Kumar's OMG - Oh My God! have been slammed for allegedly hurting religious sentiments.
Helmed by Prabhu Deva and bankrolled by Khan and his brother Arbaaz, Dabangg 3 will see Khan returning in the role of inspector Chulbul Pandey for the third installment of the famous action franchise.
Apart from Khan, the movie also features Sonakshi Sinha, Arbaaz, Mahie Gill, and Sudeep in pivotal roles.
It is set to hit the theaters on December 20.
