However, now, in a message dedicated to Bachchan, Singh said that he regrets his "overreaction" against the actor and his family.
"I regret for my over reaction against Amit ji and family. God bless them all (sic)," Singh wrote on Twitter.

In another message, Singh shared a video on Facebook, where the retired politician can be heard saying, "For the past 10 years, I not only maintained a distance from the Bachchan family, but also believed that they hated me."
A visibly frail Singh added, "At this very hospital, 10 years ago, Bachchan was with me for two months, but we slowly drifted apart thereafter."
Singh was diagnosed with a kidney ailment, 10 years ago
"Even after 10 years, he [Bachchan] has never failed to send me messages on occasions like my birthday and my father's death anniversary. I now feel that I had overreacted against him."
Notably, Singh, who also said that he is "fighting a battle of life and death", was diagnosed with a kidney ailment 10 years ago.
Singh and Bachchan had a fallout in 2010
Reportedly, Singh had offered financial aid to Bachchan, after the latter's production house, ABCL, crashed.
However, the two had a fallout in 2010, after Singh was expelled from Samajwadi party, while Bachchan's wife and former actress Jaya chose to retain her association with the party.
Back then, Singh had criticized Jaya, who he reportedly brought into politics.
Bachchan is a politically correct and sauve person: Singh
According to Singh, when he was in prison, Bachchan took "far too long" to meet him.
"When I got bail, Mr. Bachchan came to see me, but I was not impressed...Bachchan only came after I was granted bail and was in hospital. I was very cold and formal with him because he waited. He is a politically correct, suave person," he had said.
In 2017, Singh made shocking claims about Bachchan family
In fact, in 2017, Singh had made some shocking claims about the Bachchan family.
"Even before I met Amitabh Bachchan, he and Jaya Bachchan were living separately. In their two bungalows, Janak and Pratiksha. People blame me for every possible problem in the country," he had told ABP News.
Singh had also hinted at a plausible rift between Aishwarya Rai and Jaya.
Singh also questioned Bachchan's silence over Panama Papers
In another instance, after Bachchan's name came up in the controversial Panama Papers, Singh questioned his silence. However, Bachchan shrugged it off, saying, "He [Singh] is our friend and he has the right to say whatever he wants to."
