After editor Apurva Asrani, Kangana now attacked by Ketan Mehta
Kangana Ranaut seems to be fishing in troubled waters. Not even a week after being accused of stealing screenplay credits, she has been sent a notice by filmmaker Ketan Mehta for "hijacking" his project.
Mehta said his project titled 'Rani of Jhansi: The Warrior Queen' was hijacked by Ranaut and Kamal Jain for 'Manikarnika'.
Sources said he had spent ten years researching for it.
19 May 2017: After editor Apurva Asrani, Kangana now attacked by Ketan Mehta
Allegations: Was discussing script with Kangana since two years: Ketan
"Since 2015, I was in contact with Kangana. I was sharing research material and drafts of the script and she was actively participating," said Ketan.
He said he learnt of Manikarnika through newspapers, and was shocked at seeing his idea announced with other producers and directors.
"We have asked for (Manikarnika) to stop, we plan to go ahead with our project," he added.
Fact: No fallout with Kangana, said Ketan, earlier
Ketan refuted reports of a fallout with Kangana in March due to difference of opinions about the project. She had reportedly introduced him to Jain, and all of them were in talks where information was shared. 'Manikarnika' allegedly came out of the blue for Ketan.
Asrani: The Kangana-Asrani tiff
Couple of days ago, writer-editor Apurva Asrani accused her of stealing his work in 'Simran' and passing it off as her own.
Kangana denied the allegations, saying she had helped refurbish his draft and was only taking credit for 'additional story and additional dialogue'; Apurva had been "duly credited" for his work.
Writer Sameer Gautam then blamed Asrani for stealing his work in 'Shahid'.
