All these years have passed but the force still remains strong. Yes, I am talking about Star Wars, as today marks the 40th anniversary of the epic saga, which changed the life of sci-fi fans forever.
What began as a space opera from an inexperienced filmmaker, spanned into a multi-million dollar franchise with sequels, prequels, and spin-offs.
This is pure nostalgia.

"In a galaxy far far away"
One can never pinpoint what exactly attracts one more in this saga.
Is it the rogue-ish charm of Han Solo or the immense power of Darth Vader or the honesty that Luke Skywalker portrayed in this movie?
We are certainly not discounting the presence of light sabers and adorable banters between R2D2 and CP30.
If you haven't watched it yet, watch it.
Why is it still lauded?
J.J. Abrams might have breathed fresh life in this series with "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" in 2015 but the roots go way back.
It was not only an endeavor that defined science fiction movies for the future generation but a technological marvel as well, as George Lucas implemented innovative filming styles, new sound design techniques and avant-garde storytelling all under one roof.

The story goes.
"The Imperial Forces, under orders from cruel Darth Vader, hold Princess Leia hostage in their efforts to quell the rebellion against the Galactic Empire. Luke Skywalker and Han Solo, captain of the Millennium Falcon, work together with the companionable droid duo R2-D2 and C-3PO to rescue the beautiful princess, help the Rebel Alliance and restore freedom and justice to the Galaxy."
The only one with the Oscar success
1977 Star Wars was nominated for 11 and managed to bag seven Oscars and it also has a BAFTA and a Golden Globe under its name; the follow-up movies, however, didn't fare that well.
J.J Abrams's Star Wars: The Force Awakens had garnered 6 Oscar nominations and George Lucas's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story had two nominations in its belt.
Get ready for more awesomeness
Star Wars, through the years, has become a cult and will continue to be so in future.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is slated to be released on December 15 and will mark the proper return of Mark Hamill, reprising his now iconic role as Luke Skywalker.
A young Han Solo movie is also in the making, for a May 25 release next year.
