In the fifth reported shooting incident in Delhi in four days, a woman was killed when attackers opened fire on her and her family in Shalimar Bagh this morning.
Pankaj and Priya Mehra were returning home from a gurudwara along with their one-year-old son when it happened.
The father-son escaped unscathed, but hospital authorities declared Priya brought dead.
Pankaj has accused a moneylender.
Fifth shooting in Delhi in four days
While they were retuning, the Mehras' car was intercepted by a speeding Swift. The occupants forced them to stop, then opened fire.
Though they were reportedly aiming Pankaj, Priya got shot twice and sustained injuries to her neck and face.
The assailants fled after the shooting.
Pankaj has told police a moneylender was threatening him as he wasn't able to pay them back.

Delhi: Man, who blamed moneylender, was behind wife's murder
In a surprising development, a Delhi man whose wife was shot dead yesterday allegedly by unknown assailants, has admitted he had her killed.
Initially, Pankaj Mehra had claimed he suspected a moneylender who had threatened him over repayment. The gunmen were sent by him, Pankaj alleged.
But police discovered he has a second wife. He then confessed to hatching a conspiracy to kill Priya.

At least five murders till now this week
On October 23, 23-year-old Rohit Pal was shot dead in New Usmanpur; gang war is suspected. In a separate incident, 41-year-old Jafar was shot outside his shop in Shahdara; probe is underway.
The day before, a man identified as Wazid was shot dead in Brahmpuri. In yet another incident reported from nearby, 22-year-old Aarif Khan was shot multiple times; he died on the spot.
