Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Mangaluru based artist Karan Acharya's painting of Hanuman, which had gone viral.
On learning about PM's compliment, Acharya said he was both surprised and shocked. The 'angry' Hanuman artwork became a rage recently, with many pasting its poster on their vehicles, or wearing its graphic tee.
Acharya made the art in 2015 and said he couldn't believe its popularity.

PM Modi praised Acharya's painting in a rally on Saturday, and the artist's friends kept frantically calling him the day after.
"My friends were calling me continuously on Sunday. I thought they were calling normally, but one of my friends texted me that the Prime Minister praised my painting. I didn't believe at first," he said.
He added this was his life's biggest achievement.
