One of the victims, Chhattis, said the air-hostess named Priyanka had contacted him and introduced him to Amit Pal, who 'ran' an agency called Green Tree Aviation.

Chhattis told his friends about the duo, and they were given similar offers.

The youths paid Rs. 7-10 lakhs depending on the post. The victims were given a stipend of Rs. 8,500 for three months.

The fraud

'Website' was created, victims made to sit exams, 'results' displayed

Apart from Railways, Priyanka and her team also promised other government jobs. To make the fraud look convincing, the team created a fake website with the help of a designer from Kolkata.

The victims were made to sit for entrance examination also, and their names were displayed in 'results'.

But on contacting railway officials for the final letter, the victims learnt of fraud.
