Horses collapse due to dehydration, get sick regularly
PETA India, in its complaint to Delhi Police, said the horses are made to stand for long hours on concrete floors, that leads to them developing conditions like arthritis, thrush (an infection), and laminitis (a painful inflammation of the sensitive inner foot).
Inadequate care forces them to collapse from dehydration.
Horns are also used on horses despite the law being against it.
PETA India has now written to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change asking them to amend laws to stop such cruelty. They also wrote to Amazon India seeking the removal of items used to hurt horses from the shopping website.
