An 'edit-war' began on Wikipedia after Jayalalithaa was admitted to the hospital. Unknown users began listing her date of death as 30 September.

Some went as far as to claim that 'expected' date of death was 1 October.

DMK's Karunanidhi urged the government to give a clear picture of the CM's health.

Similar rumors about speculative death of Bal Thackeray had spread in 2012.

Pak cancels SAARC Summit

Pakistan has officially called the 19th SAARC Summit scheduled to be held in Islamabad in November off.

Sri Lanka too had pulled out after Bangladesh, Bhutan and Afghanistan.

Pakistani Foreign Office said the member states had violated the sanctity of the SAARC Charter by making their bilateral problems interfere in regional cooperation and blamed India for derailing the summit.

2016 Indian Super League kicks off

2016 Indian Super League kicks off

The third edition of the Indian Super League began in Guwahati on Saturday.

The inaugural match was played between Kerala Blasters FC and North East United FC.

In the previous four games played by the two teams, Kerala had won two, NEUFC won one and one was drawn.

The tournament will go on till Dec'16, with finals to being played on 18 December.

A class-action lawsuit has been filed against Samsung in the U.S. over claims of exploding washing machines.

Customers from Indiana, Texas and Georgia have reported these incidents; so far there have been 21 reports of Samsung washing machines exploding.

Samsung has confirmed that it is currently in discussions with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to address these safety issues.

Stocks of liquor companies including United Spirits Limited, United Breweries and Pioneer Distilleries soared after the Patna High Court called the prohibition of alcohol in the state "illegal."

The Patna High Court's decision now has to be acted upon by the state government, which is expected to reverse the law.

Meanwhile, the Kerala government also said it was considering tweaking the law.
