His family members said the leader finally got his due.
Kin blames Nehru and Gandhi, says clan has been exposed
The kin of Somabhai Patel (the elder brother of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel) named Dheerubhai Patel attended the function. Speaking to DNA, he said Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru did not let Patel become India's PM.
"I have sheer despondency on this issue as he had always a clean and blot-free character. Today, all the wrongdoings of Nehru-Gandhi clan have been exposed," he said.
Not only Dheerubhai, others echoed his thoughts too
Further, Dheerubhai added Congress spread myths around Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel to glorify Nehru.
He added Gandhi always said Sardar Patel was a man of ground, and PM Modi is similar to him.
Another family member, Mridula Patel, who is the granddaughter of Vallabhbhai Patel's younger brother, echoed the emotions.
She said, "What is the Congress doing even now? They feel shy to remember him".

Another member remembers how Sardar loved his family and country
Mridula's brother Bhupendra said Sardar Patel loved his family and country equally. "He gave his life in the service of the nation. He didn't want any position or money. He never had any expectations," he said.
Bhupendra revealed his grandfather was sent to Mumbai for studies by Sardar Patel even when the family had no money.
