Fire breaks out in Kolkata Metro; 11 hospitalized
On Thursday, metro services in Kolkata were disrupted after smoke was detected on a track.
Reportedly, a fire broke out in the first coach of a metro train while it was between the Rabindra Sarobar and Maidan metro stations at the heart of the city.
However, the fire has been put out by staff, but not without consequences.

What we know about the incident
After the fire broke out, smoke engulfed the train.
Feeling suffocated, many passengers tried breaking windows of the train to try and escape.
11 passengers had to be hospitalized after they fell ill. Most of them are senior citizens.
