UP: Cop, who shouted 'thain thain' to scare criminals, injured
Kumar was shot at in Sambhal district's Alia Kalyanpur village under Asmoli police station when he and other police personnel went to nab Saddam of Amroha.
Saddam and his accomplices opened fire, hurting Kumar.
The criminals were fleeing, shot at police party
Saddam, a wanted criminal, was accused in nearly 15 cases of theft, loot and attempts to murder.
When he was surrounded by police, Saddam and his accomplice tried fleeing on a bike. On seeing police, they didn't slow the bike but fired bullets.
While Saddam was nabbed by police, his accomplice managed to escape.
Sambhal SP Yamuna Prasad said Kumar sustained pellet injuries in hand.

"Acting on a tip-off, our team took position near Alianekpur tri-junction. When the cops saw the two men coming on a motorbike they signaled to stop them, but instead of slowing down the miscreants opened fire on the police party," Prasad said.

Kumar mimicking gunshots in October 2018, went viral. The video showed Kumar mouthing thain thain in a field as the guns, the police personnel took, were jammed.
About the incident, a senior cop said, "Such things aren't new and may happen. With regard to the cop shouting, it is a tactic to deal with criminals mentally and create pressure on them to surrender."
