Meet 13-year-old Amar Sathwik, who teaches UPSC aspirants

UPSC Civil Services Examination is one of the toughest exams and many spend years preparing to crack the coveted exam.

There are many online platforms and coaching institutes for UPSC preparation. However, a 13-year-old boy is helping lakhs of aspirants prepare for the exam. Amar Sathwik Thogiti is only in Class-9 but is already training Civil Services aspirants.

Amar started YouTube Channel back in 2016 at 10

With lakhs of subscribers on his YouTube Channel "Learn with Amar", 13-year-old Amar, who himself is a UPSC IAS aspirant, has become one of the youngest and most popular YouTubers in the country.

He was born in Telangana's Mancherial. He started the YouTube Channel back in 2016 when he was just 10 years old. Today, "Learn with Amar" has over 2.35 lakh subscribers.

Amar's younger brother also produces videos on YouTube

On the YouTube Channel, Amar teaches Geography and provides tricks for remembering names and locations of countries, terrains/territories, water bodies, etc. and posts videos based on aspirants' requests.

He also plans to teach Economics and Political Science on the channel.

Amar's younger brother, Angh Vignesh, has also joined him and has already produced about 13 videos on the YouTube Channel.

Amar said that he has learned some of the hacks from his father Goverdhan Achary Thogiti, who is a government school teacher a resource person for the training of teachers in the Mancherial district.

"I liked playing with Atlas since I was in Class 5. My father saw the interest in me and started teaching me geography," he said.

On how he started publishing YouTube videos, Amar said, "Once, during our sessions (with his father), I enacted teaching a lesson in geography when my mother (was) recording a video and uploaded it online. We received...good response and have been publishing videos since then."

Want to make the country a better place: Amar

Amar, who aspires to become an IAS officer, wants to work with the government for making the country corruption-free.

"I want to become an IAS officer and make the country a better place. There are many rules in our country but they are not followed or implemented well. When I...become an IAS officer, I will ensure better execution," said Amar.

Amar on the negative comments he receives

Amar said he also receives negative comments sometimes. "We...receive negative comments sometimes, especially when there are disputed territories involved. Since I only work on the videos in weekends and on weekdays I focus on my school curriculum, it does not bother me much," Amar said.

Goverdhan Achary says his sons are gifted

Goverdhan Achary, who believes his sons are gifted, said, "My sons are talented. I teach them the same tricks I teach other teachers. Both grasp things quickly."

"I will send my child to study in the city after Class 10 but till that time they are here, I wish to teach them to pursue knowledge and the best of themselves," their father said.
