The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released an important notification for candidates appearing for JEE Main April 2019 from centers outside India.
They must report to their respective examination centers according to the Indian Standard Time (IST) mentioned on their admit cards.
The notification was released after some candidates appearing for JEE Main 2019 in January reached exam centers according to their local time.
JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) is conducted every year for admission to various engineering colleges, including the prestigious ones - Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs) - and architecture colleges.
JEE conducted in two phases: JEE-Main and JEE-Advanced.
This year, JEE-Main is being conducted twice by the NTA: in January and April.
Every year, lakhs of aspirants appear for the exam.
NTA released the notification as some abroad candidates appearing for JEE Main 2019 in January couldn't sit for the exam after reaching the center according to their local time.
The notification said, "In order to avoid such a situation, the Candidates appearing for JEE abroad are hereby advised to report at their Examination Centers well in advance as per IST mentioned in Admit Card."
Last week, the NTA also released an advisory for the candidates appearing for JEE Main in April.
It provides all the important details regarding the examination.
Aspirants must download their admit cards well in advance from the official JEE Main 2019 website, www.jeemain.nic and check for details.
In case of any incorrect personal details, candidates must immediately inform the NTA of such errors.
The JEE Advanced, scheduled on May 27 this year, is the next step to get into the IITs and other premier engineering institutes. The top scorers of JEE-Main are allowed to sit for JEE-Advanced. Registrations for the same will begin after JEE-Main results are announced.
