Karnal: Several injured while protesting against death of ITI student
Initially the protest was somewhat peaceful, but turned violent when the students allegedly started throwing stones at cops.
The police finally used force to control the mayhem.
The incident left 30 policemen and several students injured.

Anikit was crushed to death while boarding state-run bus
The deceased student, identified as Anikit, was crushed to death by a Haryana Roadways bus, while he was trying to board it. Immediately after the incident, the students of the institute decided to block the National Highway-44, where the mishap happened, and vandalized the bus.

The students, who were present at the time of accident, said the driver didn't stop immediately after hitting Anikit.
The protesting students and staff members of ITI claimed that the drivers of the state-run buses do not stop the vehicles at designated stops, forcing them to chase the buses.

Committee has been formed to look into the matter: Police
The police had to resort to fire tear gas shells to clear blocked road.
"Students gathered today to protest. But there were some mischievous elements who provoked students to jam roads and spread lawlessness. Several police personnel were injured," Surinder Singh Bhoria, Karnal Police chief, confirmed, adding a committee has been formed to probe Anikit's death.
Some protesters, including students, are in police custody.
