Jammu: Central University of Jammu's website hacked

Following the alleged attack at Central University of Jammu (CUJ) on students from Kerala and Tamil Nadu on Friday, the university's website was hacked on Tuesday.

The website of the university, located at Raya Suchani on the outskirts of the Jammu city, was hacked to protest the attack on students.

Many students said they are attacked and called "beef eaters" and anti-nationals".

However, CUJ Vice-Chancellor Professor Ashok Aima denied any attack on students from Kerala and Tamil Nadu, adding they have filed a police complaint against the website hackers to trace them.

"These students (from Kerala) belong to the AISF and SFI. All they want is free food, free liquor, and free drugs... nobody questions them," he said.

Kerala Chief Secretary writes to Jammu & Kashmir counterpart

Kerala Chief Secretary Tom Jose has written to his Jammu & Kashmir counterpart, seeking steps to ensure the safety of Kerala students. According to a spokesman for Kerala Chief Minister's office, two students of CUJ who belong to Kerala informed the CMO about the matter.

CUJ has 1,500 students; 70-80 are from Kerala: Aima

According to V-C Aima, Central University of Jammu has nearly 1,500 students and nearly 60-65% of them are Muslims, "including those from Kashmir and Kerala".

Putting the number of students belong to Kerala at 70-80, the Vice-Chancellor said, "They are very volatile; they are hardcore members of AISF and Leftist movement."

Hackers call themselves 'Kerala Cyber Warriors'

Calling themselves "Kerala Cyber Warriors", the hackers of the CUJ website said their action is in protest of the alleged attack on Kerala students by some "brainless ABVP-RSS" activists in Jammu, and "labeling them as beef eaters, JNU sympathizers, anti-nationals."
