Reports suggest that Kejriwal, who is also the chief of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), was slapped by the man during the roadshow.
The man who attacked Kejriwal has reportedly been detained and questioned by the police.
In a video tweeted by news agency ANI, CM Kejriwal can be seen standing on an open-top vehicle during the roadshow, campaigning in Moti Nagar when the unidentified man wearing a red shirt jumped up to attack him.
The man was, however, pulled off the vehicle by Kejriwal's supporters. ANI reported that the police rescued the man from AAP workers who thrashed him.
Meanwhile, the AAP has blamed BJP for the attack on CM Kejriwal. "They have created a perception that the only way to take on Arvind Kejriwal is to physically assault him," AAP lawmaker Saurabh Bhardwaj was quoted as saying by NDTV.
The AAP has also alleged that the assault on CM Kejriwal was an "opposition sponsored attack".
The AAP tweeted, "Another negligence in the security of CM @ArvindKejriwal. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal got attacked during the roadshow."
"We condemned this cowardly act. This opposition sponsored attack cannot stop the Aam Aadmi in Delhi (sic)," the party posted on the micro-blogging site.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal got attacked during the roadshow. We condemned this cowardly act. This opposition sponsored attack cannot stop the Aam Aadmi in Delhi.
However, this is not the first time that Kejriwal was assaulted publicly. He has reportedly been assaulted in public six times since 2013. Last year, a man forcefully smeared chilli powder on the Delhi Chief Minister's face outside his office.
