Reportedly, the six terrorists entered India through Nepal disguised as Hindu pilgrims. They later boarded a car to journey to Ayodhya, then named Faizabad.

What happened during the terror attack?
At around 9am on July 5, 2005, the six terrorists, disguised as Hindu pilgrims, reached near the Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi site in Ayodhya. Five of them deboarded the car they entered in, while the sixth one drove towards the first security barricade and blew himself up. The five terrorists later moved towards Sita Rasoi, hurling grenades and firing automatic rifles.
