Registration and process of filling in choices for admissions to academic programs using Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) score, Main and/or Advanced, will close today at 5PM.
While the candidates who have cleared JEE-Advanced can opt for IITs, those with JEE-Main score can register for other top listed colleges including NITs, IIESTs, IIITs and other government-funded institutes.
Notably, this process had commenced on June 16.
All the eligible candidates can register by filling up their basic details on JoSAA's (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) official website.
The candidates also need to select their preferred colleges and courses/branches, which will be mentioned in the list provided along with the registration form.
In case any candidate fails to lock the choices, his or her form will not be considered.
The candidates would also have to fill-in their favored institutes and branches/courses choices in decreasing order of preference. And make sure that your preferred choices have been locked. Note that the last saved choices will be locked automatically in case one fails to lock them.
Follow these simple steps to register for the preferred academic programs before the deadline:
1- Visit JoSAA's official website, josaa.nic.in
2- Click on 'JoSAA 2019 candidates registration and choice filling' tab.
3- Log in using your JEE-Main 2019 application number and password.
4- Fill-in the required details and college choices.
5- Make payment.
Please note candidates won't be able to modify college choices later.
Meanwhile, JoSAA displayed two mock seat allocation rounds yesterday on its website as per the choices filled by the candidates.
The first seat allocation round will commence on June 27, followed by six more rounds scheduled between July 3 and 18.
Each round will be followed by seat acceptance process and document verification. Moreover, JoSAA will release seat availability status after each round.
Allotment letters will be issued to the respective candidates.
In order to accept it, one has to pay "seat acceptance fee" via the e-challan issued along with the letter.
Further, the candidates will have to carry their original documents for verification at the assigned centers.
In case a candidate gets his/her choice of admission, he/she has to pay the fee to book the seat.
This academic year (2019-20), JoSAA will be regulating the seat allocation process for 107 institutes including 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 25 IIITs and 28 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs).
