Dr. Prathap Chandra Reddy, a renowned cardiologist, is one of the most famous doctors-turned-entrepreneurs in the country.
He is the Founder and Chairman of the Apollo Hospitals Group, India's first corporate chain of hospitals that introduced international quality healthcare; it was established in 1983.
Reddy, acknowledged widely as "architect of modern Indian healthcare", was also honored with Padma Bhushan (1991) and Padma Vibhushan (2010).
Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty, a reputed cardiac surgeon, is another popular doctor-turned-entrepreneur in India.
He was awarded the Padma Shri (2004) and Padma Bhushan (2012) for his contributions to affordable healthcare in the country.
Dr. Azim, a 2000-batch IAS officer, is the Founder and CEO of Glocal Healthcare Systems. It was incorporated in 2010 and is based in Kolkata.

Dr. Sunita Maheshwari and Dr. Arjun Kalyanpur - two Yale University-trained physicians - are a doctor couple who founded Teleradiology Solutions Group.
They established the Bengaluru-based company in 2002. It provides teleradiology services like CT, MRI, X-ray, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, and echocardiograms to more than 150 hospitals across 21 countries, including the US, Singapore, Nigeria, Uganda, Tanzania, and remote parts of India too.

He is the Co-Founder and Head of Medical Strategy of the company, which provides public health, technology, socio-cultural solutions for people in rural and remote locations.
